Back story: US center Paul Stastny is the son of former Czechoslovakian/Slovakian star Peter. Stastny the Elder stepped out from behind the Iron Curtain (with brother Anton) in the summer of 1980. His boy, Paul, was born five years later... in Quebec, but was granted dual citizenship after Peter was traded to New Jersey in 1990. Peter Stastny is now back in Bratislava, where he serves as a European parliamentarian repping Slovakia.
