I'm watching the news about the plane crash for hours. Listening up this guy- John Wendle from the crash site is sooo annoying to hear his "Ahhm" words so many times. He needs to improve!!

John Wendle’s voice report at the Malaysian Airline Flight #17 (MH17) was the best reporting I've ever experienced. The raw emotion of his discovery at the site of the crash, the concise information about the conflict in the area between the Ukraines, armed rebels and Russians and all of this during the remote dead of night (10:30pm) where the only light is from hand held flashlights...... I'm sad John had to experience such a humanitarian travesty but I'm glad he did a fantastic job.

We'll have a story up about journalist John Wendle's experience in Ukraine today shortly. It's grim but powerful:
"There's blood splattered everywhere, and pieces of remains," journalist John Wendle told ABC News. "It's a pretty grim sight ... this is terrible."

To answer a common question from commenters: there has been no confirmation yet whether any Americans were aboard Flight 17. We're working on it, but are waiting for official word before we report anything.

Have been listening to ABC news since the first report of airline crash. The most professional group of jounalists I have seen on TV for years. Sorry they had to leave to see OZ. Can't even think of going to the FOX, CNN, MSNB, stations with all the speculations, analysis, guessing, blaming, stupid questions to paid pretty people. Great job ABC thank goodness, I thought we had lost all hope of professional journalists.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 had 283 passengers and 15 crew members. The airline had earlier said there were 280 passengers, but later revised the count to include three infants.
