Sgt. Pugliese testifies he had tackled Tamerlan Tsarnaev and was trying to handcuff him in the middle of Laurel Street when he noticed the black Mercedes racing directly towards them.
He says he quickly grabbed Tsarnaev by his belt.
"I was trying to drag him out of the street to prevent him from getting struck," he says. "The black SUV, it was just right in my face."
Sgt. Pugliese says he rolled out of the way. "I could feel the breeze of the vehicle" by his face, he recalls. He says the wheels "were within inches of my feet."
He says the vehicle dragged Tamerlan about 25 to 30 feet. "Tamerlan was hung up in the rear wheels," he says before the Mercedes crashed into a police car.
Tamerlan lay injured and bleeding in the street, but Sgt. Pugliese testifies, "he was still moving around."
He says he stood over Tamerlan, putting his foot in the small of his back as he called for an ambulance. -

The jury is viewing photos that Kitzenberg took from his bedroom window on Laurel Street.
"I could see gunfire," he testifies. "I could see them crouching behind the car and going into bags and backpacks at their feet."
He said they grabbed "objects" out of the bags, but he couldn't tell exactly what they were. -
