Meng: i decided to drive along the Charles River to relax. i don't have a destination
Meng: i went to Memorial Drive in Cambridge and made a left turn at BU bridge toward Boston
Meng: then right turn onto Comm Avenue. Then right Harvard St. Right on Brighton Avenue. He got a text message from a friend so he decided to pull over and text back. I'm a transportation engineer so I know it's unsafe to text and drive.
Meng: I was texting a message. a few second later, I saw another car. a sedan, 4 door car, pull behind me.
Meng: car pulled over very fast right behind me. very quickly men just walked out from that car and walked toward me and knocked on the front passenger's window
Meng: I thought he was trying to ask a question. I rolled down a little bit of the window. he asked me to roll it down a little bit more. i thought he was trying to ask directions. suddenly he reached his hand in and opened up the door and jumped into the car
Meng: he closed the door and pointed a gun to me, right to my head. he asked for money first. where's the cash. i gave him all the cash in my car. $40-45
he said that's all you have? where's your wallet? so i gave him my wallet too.
How close was the gun? very close? how did you feel? i feel totally shocked. i was like what is this?
Meng: I took out my wallet and handed it over to him.
Meng: I told him that's all the cash i have.
Meng: Then he pulled the magazine of the gun out to show me there's bullets. told me he was serious. don't be stupid
Meng: then he said do you know the Boston Marathon explosion? he said do you know who did it? he said I just did it and I just killed a policeman in Cambridge
Meng: I believed he was serious and he was telling me the truth. how did you feel? terrified. the whole world, everybody is looking for them. i can't believe i just met them.
Meng: He asked me to pull out. he wanted me to drive.
Meng: first said left turn, then right. later Meng noticed the sedan 20-30 minutes later when they pulled over in Watertown
Meng: turned onto Comm Ave for 2 miles. right turn near Brighton.
Meng said the two talked. First of all he asked me my name and where I'm from. Meng said his hands were shaking and he was having trouble driving
Meng told him his English name "Manny" He thought i said Money and laughed. you must have a lot of money. I said Manny
I said I'm Chinese. he said, I'm muslim. muslim hate Americans. I responded Chinese are very friendly to Muslims. He said just be relaxed and keep driving
We made a right turn. ended up on Market Street in Brighton. he asked me how long I had lived in US. I said i came here for study at Northeastern and that my English is not very good
He asked who I lived with. I said roommates
Later on he asked Meng if anyone cares about you. He wanted to know if anyone would notice if I didn't come home, Meng testifies.
Meng said they kept driving and at some point he asked the pin code on the bank card. I told him the pin code. it had the number 86 in it. he asked if that's when Meng was born. I said it's my girlfriend's birthday
Meng said he only left small items in the car. water, wallet, sunglasses. did you put a tupperware bomb in your car, the prosecutor asks? no. Do you remember someone bringing a CD into the car? was that yours? no. did you ever hit a human being or animal with your car? no. did you ever leave blood on the front panel? no. Any bullet holes? no
Exhibit 795 is now shown in a picture of Meng's damaged Mercedes. Meng says he doesn't know how that happened. A zoom in show bullet holes in the driver's door. Meng testifies they weren't there before 4/19

David Bruck is up to cross examine Meng
Bruck: the person who came up to your car was Tamerlan, correct? Meng: yes. Bruck: and got into your car, pointed a gun and robbed you? Meng: yes Bruck: and threatened to kill you? Meng: yes.
Meng testifies the first time he met Tamerlan was that night. and that at first he thought Tamerlan was asking directions
Bruck asking if Tamerlan made a cell phone call while Meng was driving. I don't remember. Bruck asks Meng if he saw another gun aside from Tamerlan's. No, Meng testifies.
Bruck asking Meng if Dzhokhar only asked him if the car could play his iphone music. Meng says yes
Meng says both brothers loaded stuff into Mercedes in Watertown. Prosecutor: who got in your car? Jahar, Meng says. Who got money from ATM? Jahar. Did the defendant ever tell you he did not have a gun? no. Meng is done

Nickerson was in a two-man cruiser working East of Harvard Sq on 4/18. His duties were adjusted due to Collier shooting. other officers were at the Collier scene
