Cavani I imagine will set something up, but if Uruguay get anything, it's likely to be Suarez.
`Oooh! Wilshere surges forward, finds Sturridge, the Liverpool striker has time to trap, turn and open fire with all weapons. The shot whistles just past the post.
The little genius tries a similar free kick to the effort against England, smashing it from at least 40 yards, and Fernando Muslera has to watch it all the way before tipping it over the bar!
That was encouraging from England. Movement between the lines, an eye for a pass, a decisive shot. Feels a bit weird. Not sure what to make of it.
Al, Italy will go through with a draw on Goal Difference.
Todd, most players of other nationalities are happy to travel in search of regular football at their level. Not so for the English. Of their 23 man squad, 22 play in England. Just one (the third goalie) plays in Scotland
Mike, I'd agree. That and the big clubs hoovering up the young English talent so they don't get enough game time.
That's a very good point, Mike, it's something that has been particularly damaging to Chelsea. When Carlo Ancelotti first arrived, the club made a big deal of promoting four youth products to the senior squad. But Carlo knew he'd be sacked for the slightest drop in form and they rarely had the opportunity to play.
Howard Webb, Centre. But he won the World Cup Final last time, so there's no glory for us this year
Edinson Cavani is up for this one today, sprinting around like nobody's business as he tries to unsettle the Azzurri back line.
Now it's Marco Verratti who is down for Italy as he wins a free kick after being kicked from a high boot.
Suarez would have parachuted out of snake's bottom to leave Anfield last summer, we know that for a fact, so the rumours aren't entirely surprising. It would be nice if he stayed and continued to repay the faith that club put in him, mind.
